Voting Rights and the For the People Act

"The 2020 election underscored the need for comprehensive, structural democracy reform. Americans across the country were forced to overcome rampant voter suppression, gerrymandering and a torrent of special-interest dark money just to exercise their vote and their voice in our democracy.” - Representative John Sarbanes, sponsor of H.R. 1."

Similar legislation was introduced during the 116 Congressional Session and passed the House of Representatives, but was not taken up by the Senate.

H.R. 1 was passed by the House on March 3, 2021, and introduced in the Senate March 17, 2021. Please contact our Senators to urge them to vote "yes" when the For the People Act (S1) is brought to a vote. Contact by phone, email or USPS:
